About me
Mathew Lubari is a repair activist, digital literacy trainer, and Executive Director of Community Creativity for Development (CC4D). He is a member of the global Right to Repair Movement, a Steering Committee Member at The Maintainers Movement and #ASKnet Network, and a 2024 MTM Fellow.
Born in Yei, South Sudan, and later displaced by conflict, Mathew discovered the power of repair after fixing electronics in Rhino Camp, Uganda, using a small bag of tools he carried as a refugee. This experience inspired him to co-found CC4D in 2019 to empower refugee youth through repair and digital skills.
He has led ICT and repair café programs in Rhino Camp and Yei, established the Bright Makerspaces, trained more than 1,000 youth, and spoken at international events including Fixfest, Re:publica, and Wind Empowerment.
Mathew’s work advances digital skills and promotes repair culture as a pathway to bridging the digital divide, peacebuilding, climate resilience, and youth empowerment in marginalized and post-conflict communities.
