About ASK-LEAD
The #ASKnet Local Expert Action Directory (LEAD) is a growing and functioning tool to connect people who have specific expertise and skills in media, ICT, and a range of various technologies with important backgrounds on local and regional contexts - be they storytelling, videography, device repair, software programming, or mechanical skills with potential clients, other community members, and all those seeking advice and information about youth-led South Sudanese innovation culture.
Our Goal
The Local • Expert • Action • Directory (L•E•A•D) platform addresses the gap between opportunity and expertise. By cataloging and connecting the professional skills of South Sudanese communities especially among refugees, in sectors such as media , hardware & software solutions, communications, community development. The platform promotes self-reliance, strengthening entire communities through mutual support.
Our Theory of Change
Skilled South Sudanese experts remain invisible while communities lack access to essential support. The L•E•A•D directory addresses this by connecting these experts with service seekers across the ASKnet network and beyond. Through this connection, experts gain visibility and livelihood opportunities, communities access quality guidance locally, self-reliant and interconnected support systems emerge.

#ASKnet Community
#ASKnet is a cross-border network of community-driven hubs founded by young South Sudanese innovators to build a sustainable media and technology ecosystem.
The network's nine member organizations provide open-source knowledge, media and IT training, and hands-on skills development to address local challenges, inspire innovation, and promote peacebuilding across refugee and host communities.
Governed by a Steering Committee representing all members, #ASKnet is supported by r0g_agency and Hive Colab as implementing partners, with funding from the German Ministry of Economic Development and Cooperation (BMZ) for 2022-2025.
